Clean Water Award

The Clean Water Award recognizes outstanding wastewater treatment facilities operated by poultry companies. An award is presented yearly in two categories: full treatment and partial treatment.


2016 Full Treatment Winner
The winner in the full treatment category was Sanderson Farms' Kinston, N.C. broiler processing plant with (from left) Brenda Flick, manager of environmental services; Dwayne Holifield, environmental manager; and Stephanie Shoemaker, manager of environmental, accepting the award from Brian Kiepper, associate professor, University of Georgia, and a member of the selection committee.


2016 Pretreatment Winner

The winner in the pre-treatment category is Tyson Foods' Russellville, Ark., further processing facility with (from left) Brian Kiepper, associate professor, University of Georgia, and a member of the selection committee, and Dave Evans, CEM, and Rick Owens, wastewater manager.

Full Treatment Honorable Mention
Tyson Foods River Valley Animal Foods of Scranton, Ark. received honorable mention in the full treatment category.














Pre-Treatment Honorable Mention

Keystone Foods in Gadsden, Ala., received honorable mention in the pre-treatment category.
